Vincent van Gogh returns to the Cathedral of Images in Florence, and he does so with a completely renewed exhibition, ten years after the first immersive experience dedicated to the Dutch painter, known as “Inside Van Gogh.” Starting from November 29, 2023, some of Vincent van Gogh’s most famous paintings will breathe new life into the magnificent architecture of the deconsecrated church of Santo Stefano al Ponte, located in the heart of Florence. This remarkable production is brought to you by Crossmedia Group, a historic Florentine company at the forefront of digital art, in collaboration with the international talent of Stefano Fake.
The exhibition retraces the personal and, above all, artistic history of what can undoubtedly be described as a genius of modern art. The aim is to immerse visitors in the art of this extraordinary artist and allow them to establish a personal connection with his paintings and emotions.
“Inside Van Gogh” will be open every day to welcome visitors into a captivating 360-degree multimedia space, offering a 35-minute multisensory experience with images, lights, colors, and music that will envelop the audience. This is a fusion of art, history, and technology, an emotional experience that will touch the hearts of visitors. But the innovations at the Cathedral of Images do not stop there. Starting from “Inside Van Gogh,” visitors will enter the exhibition through a new entrance that leads them directly to the “Mirror Room.” From there, they can move to the “Immersive Hall,” the true centerpiece of the exhibition, and then to the crypt, where they can enjoy exclusive interactive experiences.
For true enthusiasts, there is also the “Inside Van Gogh VR Experience,” which allows visitors to immerse themselves in the art of the Dutch painter through an app specially developed for Oculus Quest. Thanks to this experience, it will be possible to step into the heart of van Gogh’s most famous paintings, concluding the adventure amidst the magnificent starry sky of “The Starry Night.” Additionally, “BeVincent” is an option that will allow people of all ages to unleash their artistic creativity by creating colorful drawings inspired by van Gogh’s art.
Following the great success of the past year, the collaboration continues with Opera Laboratori, which handles reservations and reception services, and with the publishing house Sillabe of Livorno, responsible for managing the bookshop. Tickets are available for purchase at the exhibition’s box office and on the Vivaticket website.
